Legend of the Seas will feature the largest waterpark at sea and 40 dining venues
Royal Caribbean’s newest ship Legend of the Seas will make its debut in August 2026.
The third ship in the cruise liner’s mega Icon Class series, Legend of the Seas will deliver a “revolutionary lineup of experiences to more families and adventurers across Europe, the Caribbean and beyond,” according to Michael Bayley, President and CEO, Royal Caribbean International.
Currently under construction in Finland, the new vessel will join Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas in Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class.

Here are 10 things to know about this super ship:
1 Legend can carry 7,000 passengers
Just like the other Icon Series ships, Legend is 365 metres feet long and can handle around 7,000 passengers when at full capacity.
2 Her maiden voyage will sail the Mediterranean
Departing Spain’s Barcelona in August 2026, the ship will visit a series of European destinations including Florence in Italy and Palma De Mallorca in Spain. From November 2026, it will sail year-round from Florida, on six-night western Caribbean and eight-night southern Caribbean vacations.
Itineraries will include visits to Royal Caribbean’s award-winning private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, which it is home to seven beaches, 14 waterslides, five pools, a zipline and the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean. Other stops on Caribbean itineraries include to Aruba, Jamaica and Curaçao.

3 Guests can choose a different pool every day of the week
Legend has seven swimming pools, including the largest at sea (Royal Bay), holding more than 40,000 gallons of water, and the first adults-only infinity pool that floats in mid-air eight stories high. Here, guests can sip champagne cocktails atop floating daybeds to a soundtrack of DJ tunes. A family-friendly pool features fountains and slides and a top-deck pool offers sweeping views.
4 Legend has more family rooms than any other Royal Caribbean ship
With more rooms available for families on this new vessel, there will be plenty of space (and privacy) for all – think split bathrooms and hideaway bunks for kids.
For large or multi-generational families, the three-storey Ultimate Family Townhouse sleeps up to eight and offers three bathrooms, a dining room and kitchenette, as well as an in-suite slide, wraparound terrace with hot tub, cinema with daybed and direct access to the Surfside splash zone direct from its private patio.

5 It has the largest waterpark at sea
Category 6 waterpark features six record-breaking slides, including the first open freefall waterslide at sea and the tallest waterslide to sail. What’s more, it will feature the largest swim-up bar at sea, with Swim & Tonic set to make its debut as the first in the Royal Caribbean fleet.
6 There's a VIP neighbourhood dedicated to exclusive services
Out of the ship’s eight ‘neighbourhoods’, one is set aside exclusively for Sky and Star tier suite guests. Here, there are ten room styles, including the multi-storey Royal Loft, which comes with ‘royal genies’ who grant ship-wide VIP access. There’s also an elevated pool deck, and guests get access to a pool, whirlpool, swinging day beds and alfresco dining.

7 Guests can choose from 40 F&B options
Alongside the main multi-level dining room, whose rotating menu of dishes span the world’s cuisines, fifteen of the 40 venues are complimentary, with options ranging from grab-and-go snacks to Mexican sharing dishes. Speciality outlets include brands such as Johnny Rockets and Jamie’s Italian, and span global cuisines, from sushi to New England seafood.
Highlights include Wonderland, an all-sensory experience where dishes are designed to push the culinary envelope, and Royal Caribbean favourite Chops Grille, a steakhouse serving prime beef and Maine lobster.
