2 NCL ships revamped for summer 2025 season

Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Epic and Pride of America get a new look

Ahead of the 2025 summer travel season, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has carried out refurbishment projects on two of its ships, Norwegian Epic and Pride of America.

The upgrades include expanded facilities for both adults and children, additional accommodation options and new entertainment offerings.

Norwegian Epic
Norwegian Epic (lead picture) will debut in Europe on 8 May 2025 following a three-week dry dock. The ship will emerge with a redesigned top deck, including a new hot tub on deck 18 and a revamped Kids' Aqua Park, replacing the existing Splashgolf.

The adults-only Vibe Beach Club will be expanded with a second hot tub, additional sun loungers and new private cabanas. Eight new staterooms – a mix of balcony and oceanview cabins – will also be added.

The vessel will sail a season of nine- to 11-day Mediterranean and Greek Isles cruises departing from Rome (Civitavecchia), with stops in Santorini, Mykonos, Valletta, Naples, Catania and Florence/Pisa.

At the end of the European season, Norwegian Epic will reposition to San Juan, Puerto Rico for seven-day Southern Caribbean itineraries.

Pride of America
Meanwhile, Pride of America has been in a dry dock since 3 May 2025. Upgrades being installed include a new Starbucks in the Capitol Atrium and the introduction of a pickleball court on the existing sports deck.

Accommodation options will expand with 12 new club balcony suites and three inside staterooms. The young passengers' areas, Splash Academy and Entourage, will move to deck six, while a new library and card room will be introduced in a repurposed space.

Pride of America will resume its year-round seven-day inter-island cruises from Honolulu on 31 May 2025, the only itinerary of its kind, offering nearly 100 hours of port time across four Hawaiian islands, including overnight stays in Maui and Kauai.
