Vessel to homeport in Dubai after completing season in Indonesian capital

Resorts World Cruises has made history books, claiming its position as the first international cruise ship company to homeport in Jakarta.

From now until October 2024, its Resorts World One ship will sail weekly itineraries from Tanjung Priok in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.

At the end of the Asian season, from 18 October 2024, the liner will relocate and homeport in Dubai for six months. From here it will host a two-night Sir Bani Yas Weekend Cruise departing Friday; a three-night Oman Cruise to Khasab and Muscat departing Sunday; and a two-night Doha Cruise departing Wednesday.

The ship will operate from Hamdan bin Mohammed Cruise Terminal at Mina (Port) Rashid and is expected to make 75 calls in the region with 150,000 passengers during the six-month period.

Upon arrival in Jakarta, Resorts World Cruises – together with the local Indonesian authorities – held an event to welcome the arrival with the Indonesian tourism authority greeting disembarking tourists visiting Jakarta with a series of cultural performances and welcoming souvenirs.

Michael Goh, President of Resorts World Cruises said: "On behalf of Resorts World Cruises, we are deeply excited to charter a new history here in Indonesia as the first international cruise line to homeport in Indonesia with the Resorts World One.

"We look forward to a successful deployment from Jakarta and would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Indonesian government and authorities, together with our travel partners and customers for their ongoing support. Together, we are pioneering the growth of the Indonesian cruise tourism industry for both inbound and outbound."
