CMO of Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah giga-project reveals latest visitor numbers and plans to attract more
In the latest episode of the Saudi Tourism Authority Podcast, Diriyah Chief Marketing Officer Kiran Haslam talks to Sarah Hedley Hymers about Saudi Arabia’s giga-project heritage destination, dubbed 'The City of the Earth'.
As huge billboards advertising the destination to new markets go up in marketing hotspots such as London's Piccadilly Circus, Haslam reveals current visitor numbers and plans to attract more.
Haslam says: "It is a city of Earth, a 14 square-kilometre project in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. It celebrates the birthplace of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which, in physicality, is our UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the first Saudi state was established."
Diriyah’s transformation into a tourist destination is dissected, highlighting the power of its UNESCO World Heritage Site status, cultural and historical landmarks, and unique seasonal events that showcase traditional Saudi hospitality.
