“There's no other place for Dubai Airports to aim for than number one,” says CEO Paul Griffiths
Dubai Airports is on track for another record-breaking year, according to Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports.
January 2025 saw 8.5 million passengers, and projections for 2025 suggest 96 million passengers by the end of the year, up from the record 92.3 million last year.
Those details were shared by Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, in a fireside chat that highlighted key markets such as India, Saudi, the UK and the US, as well as outlining a commitment to new technology such as facial recognition to improve the customer experience.

This customer-first strategy is being implemented at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), which will eventually become Dubai’s main airport with a capacity for 150 million passengers, rising to 260 million.
In 2024, a US$35 billion expansion plan was announced for DWC as part of the emirate’s vision for the aviation landscape.
“In the future, customer preferences are not going to be driven just by price and the product on board an aircraft, but the convenience and quality of the customer experience on the ground at airports,” said Griffiths. “There is no other place for Dubai Airports to aim for than number one.”
