Samana Ocean Views will have 190 villas and apartments

Dubai’s Samana Developers has unveiled a AED2.2 billion (US$600 million) waterfront project in the Maldives, marking the first foray into branded residences for the city’s seventh-largest developer.

Featuring 190 overwater bungalows, beachfront villas and poolside apartments, Samana Ocean Views will feature interiors by Elie Saab, the eponymous fashion brand founded by the Lebanese designer.

Set in a prime location, just a 20-minute speedboat ride from Hanimaadhoo Airport or a 45-minute seaplane journey from Malé, this exclusive island resort will also offer high-end amenities, including a spa and wellness centre, multiple swimming pools, fine dining Arabian and Japanese restaurants, and extensive water sports and diving facilities.

Sustainability will also be front of mind, with coral restoration programmes to support the environment.

Describing the project as “an extraordinary destination where luxury, design and natural beauty meet”, Imran Farooq, CEO of Samana Developers said each residence will be thoughtfully designed to reflect Saab’s visionary approach to luxury.

Elie Saab will make its design debut in the Maldives, marking a significant step in the brand’s strategic expansion into exclusive destinations globally.

The bespoke interiors will combine timeless elegance with modern sophistication, blending soft neutral tones and luxurious fabrics and finishes, and will feature the Elie Saab Maison furniture and home decor collection, with pieces designed to complement the Maldivian environment.

Among Saab-designed projects in the UAE, Elie Saab Waterfront is being developed on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, while La Mer by Elie Saab is a waterfront development on the shores of Al Marjan in Ras Al Khaimah offering apartments and villas.

The Maldives’ Samana Ocean Views is scheduled to open in 2029.

Samana Developers has delivered more than 1,000 units since the launch of its first project in September 2018 and has more than 10,000 units under construction.
