New unified Schengen-style visa system will allow multiple entry to member countries for up to 30 days
A new Schengen-style visa system being rolled out at the end of 2024 is set to boost tourism for Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) member countries.
The Grand Tours Visa is a unified visa that will allow foreign applicants multiple entry access to all six GCC countries – the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia (pictured), Bahrain and Kuwait – for up to 30 days. Currently, individual visas are required for each country.
The new visa will provide greater convenience for travellers, giving them the cost-effective option of paying for a single visa to travel across all GCC borders.

Announced by the GCC, the new visa is intended to enhance the region’s appeal to international tourists and boost economic growth through increased tourism.
Select Southeast Asia countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Myanmar, and Southern African countries (Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe) are also considering a new Schengen-style visa system.
