Direct route from Oman to Netherlands to launch in July
Oman’s national carrier Oman Air is expanding its global network with the launch of direct flights to Amsterdam in the Netherlands this summer.
This marks the airline’s first direct connection with Amsterdam and its 11th destination in Europe, bringing the total global network count to more than 40.
The new route, which is scheduled to begin on 1 July 2025, will connect Muscat International Airport (MCT) with Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS).
Oman Air will operate four weekly flights throughout the summer months, using its B787-9 aircraft.
Commenting on the new service, Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air, said the airline was focused on destinations that offer “long-term opportunities for tourism and business exchange”.

Europe is the airline’s second largest market in terms of revenue and Amsterdam represents a key hub in the region for business and leisure travel.
Amsterdam is the first new route for Oman Air after joining the Oneworld Alliance, the benefits of which include access to the Oneworld Lounge at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol for Business Class, Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire, and Sindbad Gold and Silver customers.
The airline is also set to roll out its popular Muscat-Moscow service year-round, adding three weekly flights between May and September, and increase frequencies on its London Heathrow-Muscat route. Four additional weekly services will be added to the existing daily flights from 26 October with plans to make it a double-daily route by summer 2026.
“London has always been a cornerstone of our international network, and the UK represents one of our largest inbound tourism markets,” said Korfiatis.
