Two-day celebration will include a perfomance by dance sensation Sona Dey

Diwali celebrations will take place at Sun Siyam Olhuveli Maldives later this month.

The festivities, which are scheduled for 30 October and 1 November 2024 will feature performances by DJ Kingazoo, dance sensations Mukulgain and Sona Dey (pictured), and choreographer Ashish Patil who will join the celebrations fresh from winning Best Choreographer of the Year at the Sanman Maharashtracha Awards.

Guests can expect a lot of colour, time-honoured Diwali traditions and hands-on activities, such as crafting garlands and creating rangoli, an art form that originates from the Indian subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the floor or a tabletop using coloured sand, powdered materials such as lime stone and quartz powder, flower petals and coloured rocks.

A Rangoli Competition will be held at Sunrise Beach where guests can show off their artistic talents and transform the sands with colour and creativity, while the resort’s Diwali treasure hunt will be designed for guests of all ages.

As the sun sets on 1 November, the Halliwaili Eve Party will kick off at the Lagoon Bar, packed with colourful dance and plenty of entertainment. Diwali night will feature radio host DJ Kingazoo.
