Visit Qatar launches TV channel to boost tourism

Dedicated travel programming will be aired in partnership with satellite company Es’hailSat

Visit Qatar has partnered with locally based satellite company Es’hailSat to launch a television channel dedicated to tourism in the country.

The Visit Qatar channel can be viewed on the Es’hail-2 satellite, broadcasted at the 26⁰ East hotspot, which covers the Middle East and North Africa.

The channel presents Qatar as a leading travel destination, and Qatar hotels will air the channel on televisions in guest rooms, providing visitors the opportunity to preview the country’s tourism offerings.

Commenting on Visit Qatar’s partnership with Es’hailSat, Visit Qatar CEO Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi said: “Qatar is an exciting global travel destination and has been receiving millions of visitors annually from across the globe over the past few years.

“This partnership with Es’hailSat for a dedicated tourism TV channel will showcase the diversity of the country’s tourism offering and promote its robust calendar of events.”

Es’hailSat CEO, Ali Bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, added: "Es’hailSat is delighted to power Visit Qatar’s TV channel and showcase the most attractive travel and tourist destinations across the State of Qatar via its satellite hotspot."

After welcoming a record-breaking four million visitors in 2023, Qatar's tourism industry has continued its growth throughout 2024. By September, the country had already exceeded 3.7 million visitors, representing a 28% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
