Palatial property features a coastal-inspired restaurant, wine bar and garden terrace
The Hoxton has opened its latest hotel in Florence, marking the brand's 17th property worldwide and the second in Italy, following the opening of The Hoxton Rome in 2021.
Owned by Ennismore, the brand which was born in London in 2006, is known for its ‘open house’ concept, with each property deeply rooted in the local culture and featuring design-led rooms, vibrant spaces and a community-focused approach.
Situated in the heart of Florence's historic centre, near the Piazza della Liberta, The Hoxton Florence offers easy access to local galleries, boutiques and bakeries and is within walking distance of landmarks such as the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery and Fortezza da Basso.
The 161 accommodations are split between two buildings, a modernist structure and a 16th-century late-Renaissance palazzo once owned by the Ricasoli family, inventors of Chianti wine, and featuring an outdoor arcade with 15th-century frescoes.
Rooms and suites in the original palazzo take their design cues from Renaissance influences with nods to classical Florentine architecture, while in the newer building, interiors are minimal with linear motifs, bold colours, clashing prints and exotic materials.

Nine accommodation categories range from the Snug for solo travellers to House Florence, a self-contained three-bedroom apartment for up to six guests with a private entrance, kitchen, dining area and outdoor terrace. This House category marks a first for The Hoxton brand.
All rooms come with walk-in rain-showers, blackout blinds and some feature private terraces and outdoor baths.
The hotel's dining options include Alassio, an all-day restaurant serving coastal-inspired Italian cuisine, including dishes cooked over charcoal, and Enoteca Violetta, a laid-back wine bar for drinks and platters of charcuterie and cheeses.

A sprawling courtyard garden with a fountain serves as an outdoor dining area, while two dedicated event spaces cater to various occasions.
In 2025, Ennismore will also roll out The Hoxton brand in Edinburgh, featuring hotel rooms and self-contained apartments, and in Dublin, a restoration of the landmark Central Hotel.
Ennismore previously announced significant expansion in the Middle East as part of its global growth strategy.
The company is known for its diverse brand portfolio including Mondrian, Mama Shelter and 25hours, and is set to launch several new properties across the region this year, including three hotels in Saudi and two in Egypt.
