Oman Air will commence four flights a week from Muscat to Rome on 20 December 2024.

The service marks the airline’s first direct connection to the Italian capital, a move it says is “one of the most important announcements in five years”.

Flights on the route will be available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The outbound flight will depart Muscat at 15:00, arriving in Rome at 19:30, while the return flight will leave Rome at 20:30 and touch down in the Omani capital at 05:45.

“Our new direct flights to Rome represent an exciting step in our transformation,” said Oman Air CEO Con Korfiatis.

“Marking our second destination in Italy, this key route not only enhances our European offerings but also marks the start of our strategy to maximise the utilisation of our narrow-body fleet.

“As one of the most visited cities in the world, Rome is a perfect addition to our network. We are thrilled to offer our guests access to the destinations they want to go to while continuing to set new standards for service and hospitality.”
