Rotana appoints Area General Manager for Dubai and Northern Emirates

Timur Ilgaz takes on a new role in addition to current Cluster GM post

Rotana’s UAE Cluster General Manager Cluster for Arjaan Dubai Media City, Centro Barsha and Damac Hills 2 Hotel – Edge by Rotana will take on additional responsibilities.

Further to his current role, Timur Ilgaz has been promoted to Area General Manager – Dubai and Northern Emirates.

In this new role, Ilgaz will oversee the operations of Rotana’s properties in Dubai and the Northern Emirates with a focus on commercial growth and management, while continuing in his current role as Cluster General Manager.

With more than 38 years of hospitality experience – 26 years at leadership level – across Turkey, Canada, the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan, Ilgaz brings international expertise to his new role.

Since joining Rotana in 2007, Ilgaz – who holds a Business Administration degree from Anatolian University in Turkey – has managed six properties for the group. 

Rotana’s Chief Operating Officer, Eddy Tannous, said: “Timur’s extensive experience in hotel management, coupled with his proven ability to foster business growth and create outstanding guest experiences, make him the ideal candidate to lead our expansion in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
