Wizz Air launches Milan-Abu Dhabi flight

Service is the first long-haul flight for the airline

Low-cost carrier Wizz Air will begin daily direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Milan mid-next year.

Set to take off from 2 June 2024, the route will be the first for the carrier’s new Airbus A321XLR (extra long-range) aircraft.

Flights will depart Milan Malpensa Airport at 10:25am each day, landing at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport at 7pm. Return flights will leave the UAE capital at 8pm, arriving in Milan at 1:20am.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s Head of Commercial Tamara Vallois said the new service would build on momentum from the airline’s recently-added services from Abu Dhabi to Chisinau in Moldova and Cluj in Romania.

“The enhanced range capability will connect Abu Dhabi to new destinations across our ever-expanding network,” she said. “We’re delighted to offer unbeatable fares for our customers on the newly announced route to Milan, while providing the most sustainable flying option.”

Abu Dhabi Airports Vice-President of Aviation Development Nathalie Jongma said: "The deployment of the Airbus A321XLR on this route allows for longer direct flights on narrow-body aircraft.”
