Italian builder Fincantieri will deliver the first ship in 2028
A&K Travel Group's luxury cruise company Crystal has agreed to terms for building two ships with renowned Italian shipbuilder, Fincantieri.
The two groundbreaking ships "will redefine high-end travel on the seas", says a spokesperson for the expanding cruise line.
The 61,800-gross-tonne ships, which will have a capacity of 690 passengers (based on double occupancy) are being designed by prominent architectural firms Studio Ibsen and Studio Gem. The interiors will be decked out in precious marbles, Italian fabrics and natural materials in keeping with the high-end luxury appeal of Crystal cruises.

A standout feature will be a promenade extending through the whole ships’ perimeter, similar to those on Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity.
Wellness and relaxation will be at the heart of the new ships, with a sizeable spa and fitness centre. In addition, guests will be offered a daily programmes of entertainment, a sophisticated casino and multiple dining options, including Umi Uma, the only Nobu at sea, and Beefbar, present in the line's first two ships. There'll also be a dedicated, safe space for younger guests.

The new ships will have all-suite accommodations, with private verandas, including a popular single occupancy category, with veranda, for solo travelers.
Commenting on the ship building commission, Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, said: "Our aim is to continue setting a new standard in cruising, offering our guests an unmatched level of service and sophistication. These new ships will receive the same level of attention I have reserve to my own house."
The expected delivery of the first ship will be in Q2 2028. The construction and delivery timeline on the second ship will be announced in due course. Crystal has also secured the option to build a third sister ship with delivery in 2032.
The announcement comes two years after A&K Travel Group acquired Crystal in 2022, marking a new chapter for the cruise line.
